My husband and I go to Gran Canaria and live in an apartment hotel in Puerto Rico called Lufesa. Our apartment is located right next to the shopping and restaurant center. The apartment was not clean, the sheets were not changed and a dirty bathroom. We had to go out for a while and let the hotel do the cleaning again. Once we've installed ourselves, we'll go out and want something good to eat. We decide to try a Chinese buffet. When we start eating, we realize that the chicken in the various dishes is bloody in the middle. We don't want to eat any more because we're worried that more might be contaminated. The staff were not so eager to pay back, but offered some ice cream as a plaster on the wound. We chose to ignore the ice cream. We go to a place called El Capricho where we bought pancakes with ice cream and cream and a good cold smoothie. The man who serves may not be so cheerful, but since it's so good, it compensates everything :p The next day we meet Nina and Kevin who own Puerto Rico diving, and Hajni who works for them. We start our diving from the beach in Amadores. I was completely lyrical when we saw 2 cuttlefishes, but above all 2 octopuses. I just love octopuses, it's among the coolest animal imaginable. One of our little octopus buddies lived in a deck, and it was great fun to do pic a boo with her, as she was just as curious about what we were doing. The next day we went to the Arinaga Marin reservation. It became a favorite place for us, although the ups and downs from the cliffs are a bit tricky. What was safe was knowing that Kevin who is an old diving fox had full control of the weather and water movements, so he knew all the time the best spots to go into the water. I feel like a mixture of Bambi on ice and vale on the beach when I should go in and out from the water. Beautiful big rays, barracudas, octopus <3, trumpet fish, premeditated shrimp, sea star and the luck of seeing a small seahorse for the first time. Small and fragile that only accompanies the water movements held in a small straw. In the evenings, there are many places to stroll around and eat. After the little China buffet, the bad experience the first evening, so we had a little difficulty choosing what we would do. We walk past restaurants and take a look at what others ordered. It looks very British touristic on the plates with french fries and disgusting sauce, which we are not so keen on. We find an Italian restaurant called Al Ponte. It turned out to be real Italian food, where they do most things themselves. It was so good, and they were very funny, we liked to hear nice stories, food culture stories and got nice service, so we ended up eating there every night and probably tried a large part of the menu. For me, the rating when I go out of a restaurant is where my mouth stays, ... If I smile without controlling it, the food has been very good, Buonissimo!!! And before the evening was over, we finished with pancake and smoothie at El Capricho We finish every evening with lovely walks along the beach, and they have a great, nice walk to Amadores :)
